I'm in the middle of my first hill style build. I normally do r/d. Just wondering what the rule of thumb is for string length. How much shorter should my string be from my notch to notch measurement?

Thanks!

You know, I can't remember the last time I measured one. But I think it's close to 3" shorter. Usually I've adjusted the tiller string with a bowyer's knot when working on the bow, and I just use that as a template to size the new string.

That's kinda what I was thinking but was not 100%sure.

I measured one last night. Sure 'nuff, string is 63", bow is 66" ntn.
