Redemption part 2.

After repairing the padauk bow, I picked up another that had been sitting in the failed bow corner for some time.
This bow had been too heavy, so I ground off the belly lams and thinned down the core. Then I glued on new belly lams. While I was shooting it in, I found a splinter in the back lam,   :mad:
so I ground it off and glued on a new one, which promptly splintered!    :mad:    :mad:
This time, I cut the limbs off and re-ground the riser. I added a thin strip of walnut to build the riser up a bit and glued up new limbs using bamboo for the back and yew for the core and belly.
Third time lucky! She's a shooter!

The riser is built using European red beech, African mahogany, walnut, and a maple power lam.
It's 66" long, 65" NTN and draws 33# @ 28".
It shoots nicely, but not too fast and it has taken a lot of set. A lot of recurve has been lost at the tips.

That's determination! I probly would have given up on that one. Lol. Sometimes it's just easier to build one from the ground up. Even with reclaimed materials.
