Hey all,

So this is my first build along I've done.  Any feed back would be great!  Big thanks to everyone who helped me along the way.

So first things first.  I used a solid piece of black walnut for my riser.  My limb lams are hickery (I didn't splice them as I have a 8 ft peeve kicking around). Planned to my desired thicknesses.  I was going for a 45 pound at 28 inch draw.  I used a piece of core tuff to for look.         web page

Ok sorry about that.  I got the image thing figured bow.

Next I shaped my riser and sanded out my fades

Pre glue up.

I started using thin gauge aluminum to help distribute my clamping pressure.

Fresh from the heat box.  I cooked the bow at 170 farenhiet for 5 hours.

Let's skip a few and go right to rough shaping  :)

Finished!  I rubbed two coats of gun stock stain into the wood and then finished with 3 coats of polyurethane.

Oh here are the tip overlays.  Had some blood wood kicking around.

i think your bow is awesome- coolest feeling in the world building something with basic stuff, that to the average eye, in a store, would just seem unattainable.
only positive comment i would add is, to try and reduce the weight on the tips
look at some of the tips that people do very slim and lean- dont need much on there to protect the bow.
very cool bow
what poundage did it finish at.
what form design did you use

Thanks! ! I want to be good enough to maybe take pay in next year's bow swap.  :)

Ya I know the tips are beefy but I really wanted the blood wood to really be a nice accent point.

It ended up finishing at 55#@28" so only 10 more then planned, but that's ok as I tore a ligiment in my arm and can only pull to maybe 26 with out crying lol.

As for my form design. I didn't really have a template or plan to go off of so I just worked my own r/d design till I was happy with the curves I was getting.

Your right about building a bow being the best feeling in the world.  This is the 4 Th one I have done and my first one that is absolutly mint!  So pumped!
