Working on another short static recurve.  Profiled limbs and go it strung up today.  Man these statics are much harder for me to build than longbows.

I'd be interested in how she stacks up in performance against the TD longbows! Curves are harder for me too! Lookin good man!
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Kenny we will have two of my curves and a longbow at your place next week.  Lets do some testing.  Do you have a chronograph?

That's why I like them, the challenge.
I would rather fail at something above my means, than to succeed at something  beneath my means

Worked a little more on the curve.  Glued on some tip overlays and started shaping riser.

Stained some arrows and then sealed with gasket lacquer. Just stained here.

Hang them up between coats to dry.

Use a dip tube.

4 coats and done.

Roy from Pa

It's bow season  in the shop. We have 4 kids bows to make before we make our own.

Roy from Pa

Bue sent me some compressed beech, got it Z spliced up.

Glued two at a time, Osage and the Beech.

I wrap the glue joint with freezer paper, wax side towards the glue. Peels off real slick.

David Flanrey

Wow Roy, you've been busy!!  Lookin good.

Compressed Beech?
