On the table behind him. Another reason for a tripod, with one hand pulling the rope, the other hand had to put down the beer to run the camera back and forth. Back and forth. Back and forth.

Yupper, I should have braced it the other night. But I just didn't feel like it.. The Coors Light was telling me to get my ass out of the shop..  :)

is that spalted maple easy to come by. normal wood dealer- or specialist type wood dealer.
i sure would like to get hold of some.
is it pricey?

AkDan

I've messed around building with some spalted birch, I'd steer clear of the birch anyways...but you can find I believe its in WA state a pretty dang good supplier for spalted maple!

They say the stuff can get ya pretty sick, dunno if its any more toxic than typical fine wood dust but use caution.

Do a quick google search here ya go..

here's the one place I keep an eye on when I'm building boxes.

Now Kelly, knock it off.   :)
The spalted maple was given to me by delongbows. I will check with him.

wood carver 2

Wayne, the guy I buy wood from has it advertised at $9 to $11 per board foot. I could send you some if you like. Let me know what dimensions you want and I'll see what it would cost to mail it.

that would be amazing, Dave.
i just got up off the floor looking at the prices at NWtimber- beautiful wood- crazy prices.

i will pm you many thanks Dave.

Awesome Roy!  Excited to see the rest! Your bows really make me consider trying a tri lam, really nice stuff!

AkDan

Fuji. It's why I haven't bought any lol.   Than again look at those sizes.  One piece would last the avg guy two lifetimes.

There's another place.  Much cheaper I watch for figured maple.  I'll try to find the link.   I haven't built many boxes these past few years, and my memory is terrible.

Well Roy? You make any progress yet?

Haven't touched it. Have 720 square feet of  laminate and vinyl flooring to install in the house and other pending projects. But will be back on it this week sometime. Hopefully tonight.

Good luck on the floors....
...gonna have some left over for cores?   :D

This is why I don't start my buildalongs until they're finished ... lol ... sometimes the project comes together in two days, and sometimes two months.
