Hey guy just finished my first hybrid d/r bow and I am addicted!!!

This question has been bugging me ever since I started me build a couple months back...

What makes a bow launch an arrow with some gusto?

Is it the d/r design? Is it the material of the bow I.e. Carbon cores, action boo, thick glass or maybe thin? Is it the stack .003, .004 or .005 total taper? Or maybe a combination of tip wedges and total taper. What do you builders think?

BW clams their longbows fire an arrow at the same rate as their recurves, but their limb profile for the d/r is shallow maybe 2" total d/r  thoughts guys?

By gusto I assume you are referring to arrow speed.  All of the things you mentioned can an do have an affect on arrow speed.  In a nutshell stiff outer limbs with low mass make for a efficient bow. That along with about a hundred other variables LOL.
