I know this is a tired subject, but I have some money set aside and want to get a good belt sander for bowmaking. I'm thinking a 6 X 80, but not sure of brand.

I'm not rich by any means, but I have set aside enough money I hope to get a serious sander that will work very well and last.

Thanks, Brett

P.S. I will be making fiberglass bows if that makes a difference.

Try Craigslist if you are looking for a used sander..there is a used Grizzly 1140 edge sander in Bozemon for $400.  I bought a used 1140 sander last year for a good price. I just converted the motor end to a pattern sander. So its a edge sander and a pattern sander. If I had Roy's good looks and money I would have bought a new one..

Thanks Roy, bjansen and Robertfishes. I'm excited to have a good sander.

There is one like Roy's on craigslist in LA right now for $500 that I keep looking at.

What do you guys think about the 6x48 combo sanders?  HF Has one for $200

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

I found one of these on Craigslist, new and still in original packaging.  If I recall correctly, I paid $375.

It's a pretty nice machine.
