D I am going to sit back. I am going to be behind due to the full cast from my toes to just below my hip. I may get out and take pics of the stave I am planning on using well Plan a for now.

Ranger44

I'm semi-retired and work a little on an "on call" basis.  I got called to work today and after some catching up when I got home I'm just getting to the computer.  Got the name and now for some research and praying I can deliver.  :)

Shawn you are already getting the drooling started.

D

Don't blame ya Kelly.  Its would be hard to work on a stave with a leg length cast.

Well Roy you should be done with that PVC bow by now.  You ready to ship yet??

goobersan

Kelly, if ya drew Roy's name just pick out some splintery old chunk of wood. Ole devil probably won't even notice ! PVC......HAH

I hope Roy makes a video of running the pvc through his new drum sander  :biglaugh:

Hey, PVC splinters aren't near as bad as fiberglass! Lol.

This is my first swap (hopefully of many), and I am both nervous and excited. My victims specs will challenge both me and my form, but I'm confident in both.

I have one bow to finish up, and hope to try another limb design before I start on my swapper.
Plant a fruit or nut tree today, and have good hunting tomorrow.

Got mine!  Now for some stalking.  Good luck and good building to all!

Got mine too, interesting!   :saywhat:    :saywhat:    :bigsmyl:

Got my victim's name and did some research...which felt a little wrong - It felt a bit like I was stocking someone - not that I have ever done that. I sure din't think I would be as nervous as I am now. Laid out a bunch of wood combos and selections of veneers to work with. Now the fun begins...

Google did a grat job investigating about my receiver- but the picture is very split... too hard to combine his/her sides in one bow so I`ll have to pick one way- or another^^

Roy from Pa

LOL... Actually I plan on clamping the pvc into d/r and cooking it in the hot box at 180 degrees for two days. That should soften it up.

D, what's your address? I'll send ya this proto type and ifin it works out, then I'll make another for my recipient:)

KellyG

So Shawn and trapper are the only ones to post pic so far.

Trapper seems to be close to tillering his bow already.

Who will be the first to finish up their bow. Heck I be some of you have some on the tree already.

And there are 61 of us this year.

canopyboy

Well, the yew bow I am just now finishing up might be perfect for ******.  Would that violate the spirit of the swap since I didn't start it for him?  I could probably ship in a couple of days for that first place prize.

haha if theres a first place prize i might could race you for it canopyboy!  im in the same situation, but ive been building it for myself and im kinda attached to it, and in the spirit of the swap, i want to build it just for ******.

KellyG

Canopy do what you think is right. I just want to see some swap porn.

talkingcabbage

Kevin, I never did get a shot with them!  I did end up taking one deer with last years' swap bow, but that was the one day I didn't take the stone points - I just had my snuffers    :knothead:

I'm still gonna try them on some turkeys this spring.  I did get them on shafts and they fly really nice.  I made up a styrofoam target to practice with so I didn't dull them.  I'm gonna have to figure out how to sharpen them so I don't have to worry about it as much.

How's that osage working out for you?  Got any bows out yet?

I'm getting ideas for my victim, but I think I need to take a trip to the local Amish sawmill to find some wood.  The stuff I've got just isn't curly enough for me.  :)
