the bow has some failure on some parts. i will take its pictures and post them here as well. so my opponent (you) can decide if you want this bow or not...

it does not look very pretty... but this is not a race or pretty contest, isn't it?

best.
these are not the droids you are looking for.

I got a wonderful surprise, yesterday, in the mail. I received my trade bow from BeachBowhunter aka Norbert Shultz. It is one beautiful piece of craftsmanship. I am slammed at work right now, but stole away a couple of minutes late yesterday to shoot it a couple dozen times. SWEET!!! She is fast, silent, and no hand shock. I have shot many different bows over the years and have a pretty good inventory of glass and wood bows, and this one shoots up there with the best of them. Mr. Shultz, I can't thank you enough!

I have been working on 4 different bows for my recipient, but had narrowed it down to 2. After receiving this bow, however, I am 2nd guessing myself. I sure would like to send out as good as I got, but I will have a hard time matching this one for sure. I haven't had a chance to take any pics, but you can see the bow at this post.

Awesome Kenny! That is a keeper for sure  - beautiful and effective. A lot of advantages with a three piece. Great work Beachbowhunter!

She said ah Colton says you gotta bow in the mail. I said cool next thing was who's it from. I won't be back home till Monday night but thanks a bunch Curt ..... I'll have some pics up Monday or Tuesday for sure.

Well we are almost a quarter way done with the swap. A lot of good bows in the mail and at their new homes.

Now The last of the family has left I should be able to get on here at least once a day for updates, and work on my bow.

Dan Landis

Got mine on Friday, found it on the porch as I was leaving for the cabin.  Opened it, found an old arm guard and glove and shot about 20 arrows before leaving.  I was only a little bit late picking up my brother.

The bow is from JRHunter it is a 68" hill style, 55#@27".  The lams are all osage, with black glass on the back and clear glass over mahogany stained osage on the belly, with osage tip overlays.
The bow shoots great, I need to get some arrows made up for it now.  Will get some pics up tomorrow, have a family get together today.

KellyG

I am tracking 8 bows in the mail. And we are 25% complete on the nose. And over 10% more are in the mail. So we are doing well.

I need to get working on mine. I have not touched it at all yet. I do have the back glued on but that was done a long while back.

WestTexan

Got in about an hour before dark .... Dodged storms all the way home and saw the backside of one twister. Anyway got after the tube pretty quick and this slid out     ;)

That's cool.  I really wish I could write some where close to that on my bows.  That looks really great.  Good looking tips too.

Hope to shoot a few through it tomorrow... My yard is mostly mud right now we got over 6 inches of rain Friday evening an Saturday morning... We're catching up only .8 tenths of rain the last 6 months. Anyway here are a few pics of the one I'll be sending off this week.. Rawhide backed Osage.

Some Southwest Camo.

Well, I have done a poor job of keeping things updated.  Thanks to everyone here for all the help in getting me started with my first attempt at a glass bow.  Since I am a Minnesota Vikings fan my first attempt was black glass with a purpleheart riser with a yellowheart I-beam and tips to match(purple and gold team colors).  I figured it was for me so if it turned out funky looking that was fine and it was for experience too!

My trade bow has black glass and a cherry with maple I-beam riser.  The tips and riser overlay are white phenolic, cherry and maple.  I learned that the riser overlay work was a lot easier on an all wood bow. I hope it is OK as I know with more practice I can get better.  I know I will not use the same epoxy on an overlay again as it was too thick and that's what caused some of my problems with smooth transitions between layers.  I'm in the process of putting a finish on both right now.

I'll try to get some pics up when done.
