My cousin drove his tractor over to my house.. we cleared out an area in my back yard big enough for my portable shop and a 30 x 30 pole barn. Now I need to move the 420lb band saw out of the building so the guys can move it, anybody have a truck with a lift gate I can borrow???

I took a little day trip back to my favorite fishing spot. Caught and released about 20 trout. But I kept three for a nice lunch...

The first lake in the pic is a large lake where I start my hike the second lake pic is my spot a much smaller hard to get to secret spot - It is actually not very secret but very few people make it up there it is just under 10,000 feet and a beautiful quiet retreat!

You dog. What a beautiful place. Looks like you had a ball!!       :)

Cameron, you just ruined my day here in the office....

Today I ordered up some of the Krystal finish. Bought a couple gallons from a local distributer, gonna pick it up when I go visit one of my contractors tomorrow morning. Kind of excited about giving it a try. My dad has had his painter using a sister product (DuraVar) on cabinets lately. He says it's practically indestructable, even for bar cabinets at winery tasting rooms and other commercial, high abuse applications.

Tonight I'm going to tweak the grip on my swap bow a little. Right now it crowds my hand too far up to the shelf and the arrow keeps wearing down my index finger. Probably be better once I add a wrap, rest, and strike plate but easier to tweak now than later to be sure.

I made a new form for a Take-down longbow. This is my first round entering into the 3 piece take-down world. Wish me luck!

I finally put a patch on my osage bow that raised a splinter a couple of weeks ago. As it turns out, the splinter was only pointing to the real danger. There was a tiny crack forming at the radius where the snakeskinned back meets the side of the limb. I squirted some super glue into the crack and wrapped the area with serving thread soaked in glue. I just finished varnishing it and I'll shoot it some later on.

Helped a bud glue up a 58" D/R with Grenadillo riser, nice cherry veneers and maple core.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

That is some seriously nice wood.  Makes me remember I need to order more.

I took my first solo hike after the stroke.  I took some pictures of the deadfalls and trails back there, but my target (a massive pine with a massive knot on it) eluded me.  Try again when my legs get over being so torn up and cramping.  I still have to use the chair most of the time, but I'm working on keeping myself just able to walk.  Hoping to be fitted with an HKAFO to assist the damaged leg, but that's another talk with the doctor.

It's so good to be out in the woods again.

Really nice looking piece of wood Ralph, I'm sure you'll do it justice.

Ed, glad to hear you're getting around some, hope things keep looking up for you.

Last night I figured out that if you are spraying with a gravity feed HVLP and you slop some finish up to the vent hole in the cap, when you go to spray the next coat you won't get very far. Of course, I "learned" this after I had given up in disgust and was cleaning the gun out for the night. Otherwise, my swap bow would be done this morning.

Over the last week or so I made up some lams and cooked up a couple of limbs to go with the flared riser I made. Going on long summer vacation soon and won't get to finish it till later next month.

It was a real fine evening this evening.  Canopyboy was in the area for work and stopped by my place to fling a few.  That swap bow he built is sweet.  If his recipient doesn't like it, I'll be more than happy to take it off his hands.  The rain ended our shooting so we headed out to a local in for some killer wings and good beer.  Good times.

Thanks for the compliment on the bow John. We all get lucky every once in awhile.

Before I realized he had beat me to it, I was going to post that I spent a great evening with Sweka talking about what a gentleman and scholar that Roy guy is...
