If my count is correct we have so far:

20 people building glass bows
16 people building wooden bows of some fashion

5 people on the fence between glass or wood

Hopefully we get even more people in the swap this year! It was so cool to watch as our creations came to life.

Keep signin up boys!

Yes that is about what I count also. I think this is the first year where the glass guys out numbered the wood guys.

I was thinkin the same thing Kelly. Maybe the wood guys will jump in in a lil while.

I'm on the fence here, I have a stave coming but if I ruin it I won't have anything to fall back on.

:dunno:   and where is 'ole Roy on this one ???   :dunno:

red hill

No tellin' where Roy is. Maybe stocking up for the "Killer freeze" that's sweeping in.

I'm making a wood bow but have no problem receiving a glass bow. I love the fg r/d bow jsmoffit sent me during the third swap. Thanks, Jared.

I hope to send bows to as many states as possible and receive as many different styles of bow as possible.  It's a blast showing the "free" bows to folks. People are amazed at the concept of the bow swap. They often don't get it.  They want to know how much the bows cost. My answer is, "Priceless   :saywhat:   ."

Dan Landis

You nailed it Red, I've had the same response from most of the folks that I show mine to.  So far I've received a beautiful oak self bow from Vanilla Bear, a r/d glass long bow and turkey call from Ralph Morris, and Hickory backed white oak from K-hat.   I wouldn't give any of them up, all three are truly works of art. I try to hunt with each of them every year to honor their makers.

D

I hear ya Dan I wouldn't part with any of my bows I've got on the swap either.  They mean so much to me.  I can't decide if I can get in the swap this year or not.  As of New Years day I found out that I was going to be a daddy for the first time and am not really for sure how much time I'll have.  But then again the swap would be over with before it gets here...hummmmmmm.

Congrats 'D', welcome to the future, changing diapers, red eyed from no sleep, but the greatest gift of all!

D

lolol Thanks for the pep talk bob...lolol  I am super excited though.

KellyG

D congrats!
you have time now but in about 9 months you will need a new bow to help keep your sanity.

D

lolol Gee you guys really know how to make me look forward to what's coming..lololol Your right though I would have time this year but next year will be the issue.  Alright count me in.  I'll be building a glass bow or a backed bow of some kind.  I know that's a wide range but I haven't made my mind up yet.  Anyway I shoot right handed 50-60#@28.  If you need anything else Kelly let me know.  Thank ya for the congrats sir.

My wife still doesn't get it.  "Why do you spend so much time making a bow for someone you don't even know?"  Every year she forbids me from entering again.  You can see how that's worked out for her...

Jump on over the fence to the dark side and just do it.  If you need a second stave, you will find plenty of help from the other participants.  Trust me on this!
