So I asked a week or two ago what you guys thought of my longbow design, and asked for some constructive critism.  That one was 68" ntn, .004" taper, and tip wedges.  Addressing the 'issues' I had with that one, I decided to do my next one at 62" ntn, .006" taper, tip wedges, and a powerlam.  It came out perfect!!  The issue of it bending too much at the fades is completely gone, the arch through the mid limb is almost perfect circular, and at my 29.25" draw, the tips are just shy of 90 degrees.  Also did a completely different riser design on this one, bit more inline with it's hybrid feel.  Still got tape on it for tillering, too excited to share it haha. Tell me what you think!

Also, the top limb isn't quite bending enough in these shots.  I've since fixed that, but have run out of light to take more pictures for now haha.

Nice looking bow.  You said it all when you said it was perfect, happy it turned out perfect for you.

Great looking bow.  Congrats!
It's hard to make a wooden bow which isn't beautiful, even if it's ugly.

Thats COOL! I really liek the design. It's almost liek a takedown style ... but with the limbs permanently attached. Very nice. Please more pics nad more info ... what woods? what weight?

Very nice smooth even bend of the limbs. I think it looks great. Being a wood bow guy primarily, I don't feel right unless the limbs are bending really evenly. And to me that looks just perfect!

I love the look. Nice bow!

Thanks guys!  Yeah, I wanted to try to make a one piece that had a similar shape to a take down, pleased with how it came out.  The woods are Amber boo core, macassar ebony veneers, and cocobolo for the riser and tip wedges.  It pulls about 45-50# @ 29.25".  And thanks Ben, means more when a wood guy tells you the bend is nice and even! haha

bornofmud

Couple more shots, now with decent light and the top limb fully tillered.  Can't really see the macassar, just looks black in the shot, but in person you can see the brown grain highlights through the limb (though they are very dark).

That's an amazing bow.  It's absolutely beautiful.  Love to see people making bows with long draw lengths!

MoeM

I love to agree with you- this one looks really how it`s supposed to!
Congrats fella; nice design on the riser too...

Thanks for the kind words!!  And Moe, thanks for the info and inspiration from your own hybrid!  I did the riser a bit different, I used a 1.5x2" block, cut the shape of the form into it, and used all the spare pieces to frankenstein it together haha. The belly lams actually run straight through the riser.  Ended up working well and saving me some $$$ on riser wood haha.

Over&Under

Love the 'TD' look of that riser, but it's a one piece...well done!

Great looking bow- it does bend nicely at full draw

Igor

Nothing I don't like about it...especially like the looks of the riser handle....looks like it would fit me just right......

I dig it for real!!! I love the 3 peice profile in a one peice bow. Put me on your list for one 45-50# @ 30"

Thanks everybody!! Here's a few more, now with the overlays on and carved.

The top glyph is the rune for 'Ull' (my business is called Ullr Bows), the bottom says Fenrir, which is the model (also a giant norse wolf).

Beautiful wood and work on that one!

According to my chart, that top rune is Uruz. Meaning and use: strength; physical health; courage; promotion. Representing colors: green/brown.

I see you followed the color scheme well. Exquisite creation! That bow is gorgeous! The lines flow smoothly, and the design looks great. The brace profile and full draw curvature of the limbs look amazing. I bet it shoots nice! The name seems very fitting as well. Great job! Can't wait to see it with some finish on it.
