Would a bandsaw make a difference?

Here is one thing you SHOULDNT do with a band saw. Cut antlers off a deer. It doesn't work well once the wheels and blade get "greased" up. The blade will fly off and maybe break. Don't ask how I know this..........

Been makin' and breakin' for since '89. Never used a bandsaw on a bow. I have used a shop grade belt sander.  

I may get a bandsaw one of these days. Nothing against them. I do have a 9" which I use for arrows.

What size of band saw would ya all recommend? I can't afford the 14" Grizzly. Would a 12" or 9" bandsaw off of Craigslist work? I would use it for making longbows and arrows both.
