mail lady brought this stave on monday.  had some propellor twist and some humpty humps to contend with.  gonna have to let her sit for a while now and let her think about what she did... cause she's way to dry to try and bend her yet.

you can see i haven't gotten all of the twist out yet, gonna need another session.  how we looking?

Yeah, that looks pretty nice there.

Thanks guys. this is my second stave, and a whole nother animal than the first.  chasing the ring was a breeze on this one with its nice even crown, but its taken alot more work to straighten.  my first stave had a concave back ring and a dozen pin knots. took me a week to do the back on that one, and half an hour to straighten.

if my handle looks off center in the form, it is. it seemed the right thing to do, since im making the top limb 2" longer than the bottom

mmgrode

cool! Nice growth rings on that one. Looks like you're whipping her into shape!  Looking forward to seeing how it ends up!

2" longer seems like quite a bit. Never tried that much assymetry. interested to see how it comes out.

Gotta just love that dry heat on osage! Its like glue.

its 67" tip to tip. going for 66" ntn for a 29" draw.  ive never tried different length limbs at all. roughly following Mr. Torges on this one.
