Does anyone have any idea what percent moisture content for Koa should be before gluing?? Tony

Koa is not atypical wood...it is usualy harvested old school and air dried...I have made a lot of projects with them involved...

if you have a moisture tester anything under 8-10% is Ok...but be careful grinding it...it is very sensitive to heat...and can burn very easily. And the burn marks go very deep in a hurry.

west system, smooth on or even gorilla glue does well with it ( GG for a handle)

Thanks Ted, my block is at 15% now. I'm making a three piece take down recurve using Koa in the riser and mango veneers in the limbs. Tony
