Last week I finished the best looking, best tillered bow to-date. Bamboo backed IPE drawing 54 and 62" NTN. A wonderful shooter,,,,until. May she rest in pieces.

Do u know what went wrong for sure? Pictures? Learning and finding out why a bow broke will teach you more than a successful bow will....sorry bout the break, but it happens sooner or later to everyone in this hobby...learn what went wrong and start another

Not a clue on this one.Very good tiller and a smooth pull. No stacking , creaking , cracking or any sign of failure. Just one big pop and nearly took out two of us. I am sure there was an imperfection in the wood that I had over looked. No pictures as I was out of town and left her behind.

Isn't it exciting when they blow up? I know the feeling all too well:)

Bowjunkie

That sucks. Sorry to hear it.

Now get back on that bowhorse.

I have to say it gave a shot of adrenalin to a ho-hum afternoon of shooting. One real odd thing was my string traveling about 10 feet with my arrow nock still on the string. I have a piece of bamboo shaped and thinned and am planning another glue up tomorrow. It's all circular.

Bowjunkie

It becomes slightly more linear as you gain experience.

That sucks.  I hate to hear that.  Good thing its fun building them.

Sorry for your loss...   :(
If some animals are good at hunting and others are suitable for hunting, then the Gods must clearly smile on hunting.~Aristotle

..there's more fun in hunting with the handicap of the bow than there is in hunting with the sureness of the gun.~ F.Bear
