How does the tiller look?

1" string follow.
1,5" at the fades, 0,45" at the tips.
0,04" clear glass
0,09" 0,001 tapered maple
0,09" 0,002 tapered maple
16" oak riser
0,09" parallel
0,04" clear glass
total stack 0,35"

I'm having trouble getting a positive tiller. Right now the upper limb is weaker by 0,08" at the fades. I sanded the upper limb quite a bit, but it didn't change the tiller... I don't want to lose any more weight. Is 0,08" enough for split finger shooting?
Also a question about draw length and measuring draw weight. Do I measure from the handle throat on the belly side or from the back?

If by 0,08" you mean 1/8", then yes.  In reality you probably couldn't tell the difference between positive tiller and even tiller.

Draw length is the distance from the string to the most inset portion of the grip + 1.75". So if there's 26" from string to inset of the grip as you show, the draw length is 27.75". Therefore it's 30# @ 27.75"

No Ben, draw length is measured to the back of the bow. Simple as that.

Roy, it may be that some measure that way, but thats not the AMO standard.

The reason for doing so, as i understand it, is that an individual archer will always have the same draw length using the AMO system because it is independent of the depth of the grip of the bow.

Ok I take that back .... partially. It appears we're both right since the AMO has decided to simplify things by havign two standards, the one I cited, and the one you mentioned. Both are described in the pamphlet.

It looks great ,. Its like my Frontier 66 but with a shorter riser. I bet she is smooth. Very nice bow. The bottom limb seems to me to be bending a bit more in the outer third of the limb. You would have to lose a little weight to make up for it. But its probably a great bow right now.
Personally this bow type really grabs me. I love them;.

Thanks guys! I hope to shoot it tomorrow or the day after. It's drying at the moment.
I haven't shot this type of bow yet, but from what i have read about this type of bow, i'm expecting to love it a lot! Unfortunately i don't have proper arrows for it and it's annoyingly cold outside. It's been constant 0-15f for weeks...

Positive tiller was 0,08" or 2mm. I'm having hard time converting from metrics to imperial fractions.  :D

2mm you really worry about? thats one Mark on the metric side of my cartel checker- as long as its not upper limb I`d not even give a f*** on those 2mm   :cool:
