Belt/Disc Sander or Edge Sander?

Finally got the go ahead on the sander.
Drove down to,Springfield yesterday and picked up a G 0512
And a roller base. Wife and,I managed to,get it,off the truck this morning.
Won't be able to,set it up or anything till Monday.

They don't come with a plug on the end of the AC cord, they have terminal ends on. I just ran the wire inside the outlet box and screwed them onto the screws of the outlet socket, just a heads up Ron.

Was just looking at that. I have a window A/C that is going to the scrap pile. I'll use it's circuit but I have to run a line up and to the other side of the shop. Since I've got the plug and outlet will probably go that route.

They are pre wired for 220 volts, it can be changed to 110.

I thought I had an active 220 wall plug that was originally for a dryer, so I ran an extension onto the wires coming from the sander and added the plug, only to find that the previous tenant had just chopped the line like 4 feet from the circuit box, and removed the 220 breaker from the circuit box. So I pulled the wall plug from the wall, moved it in between the circuit box and where the sander will be, installed a 220v breaker in the circuit box, and finally got everything up and going!! Now it's really getting exciting! haha.

What would you change about your edge sander if you could? I found an old one with 128" belt and 1.5 hp. motor.
Going to redo the stand and table. If it was you what drums, tables or features would you build in?

I like my Grizzly and wouldn't change a thing. But as has been said above, some folks would like a little smaller end roller for their riser work.

Well I settled on 6x89 as it is a stock belt around here. I'd like ideas how to make or buy drums. One for shaping and one for patterns.

I know a top notch machinist but he is always too busy. Otherwise I might part with a set of limbs maybe even a riser..
