dropping weight on a glass recurve

I have a 50# Ben Pearson recurve that I would like to take a little weight off. I would like it to take it down to 40-45#. the bow's shootable, but I feel that I could shoot it better if it was a little lower poundage. Should I just leave it the way it is? Or should I try lowering it some.

It could be done, but there is always the chance of messing things up.

There's another thread going on right now about reducing weight that would be helpful if you do choose to try to take some weight off.

ok, if it's not possible then that's  fine, I'll wait and see what other answers I get.

You can do it! Just take it slow and you must take it off each side of limb equally. Upper and lower.

Sand the sides of the limbs not the back and belly.

There is always a chance of messing something up, that's life.

Take it slow, double check everything before you begin.

Instead of going thru all of that,I would look for another bow used or new to replace the heavier one.  I had to sell one of my all time faves to get another all time fave in lesser poundage.
