Hey there, just found this short vid on yt showing the components af a longbow in HH style. I`m rather confused about another glaslam in the middle of the stack- maybe someone can tell something about

CardboardDuck

I think they are mostly used for accent stripes, but I could be wrong.

Could be a 4-6" glass tip wedge added to strengthen tips and nocks

They add a touch of limb stability but its more about the color accent stripe.

Ok in the vid it seems to be usual clear glass- looks funny when sunlight falls through I guess.
But usual 0°/180° oriented won`t add a lot of stability^^

When you use glass like this, how to you add it up in your limb stack?  Will it add the same amount of weight as another layer of glass on the back or belly would?  Wonder if you could make your limbs entirely of glass.

MoeM

Sure you can buil a limb entirely from glasslaminate- but the sections between back n belly won`t do a lot of work and be much heavier than boo or wood- guess this answers your other question- if I put glass in stackmiddle it won`t add any measurable drawweight increase over the increase a usual lam would. (maybe a bit, cause its stiffer)
