Looking good!  I really like the walnut/maple combo.  Both woods are very common here and I hope to use them together in the future.

Thanks Dave.I finished the riser with a few coats of tru oil to fill in the grain on the walnut.Then three coats of Nason clear automotive finish from my hVLP gun,I then scuffed it with a scotch brite to dull it down a bit.Lastly I rubbed with medium rubbing compound until i felt it was the "semigloss" look i was wanting.I did this on my last longbow and it seems to be holding up well so far.Scott

That maple/walnut combination is great!  Congratulations on your bow build and for having the patience to post your pictures.  I'm not brave enough to do that yet!     :banghead:   Your bow is at a perfect weight also!
