All this waiting is killing me!   :banghead:

KellyG

Ok mine is fished I will ship her on Friday and post pics tomorrow. It really thumps an arrow harder then any bow I have made.

Ended up with a toasted belly re-flex d-flex hackberry with black snake skins. I got the leather on the handle this evening and shot her for about an hour and left her strung for about an hour more. Looks good. I am happy with it. I hope ******* is too.

Red hill as long as you dont lose it in your sock draw we all will be happy.

goobersan

me too, MJ. I'm sure they will all be worth the wait, I just hope mine shows up before I leave town.

Ok here is some pics of the bow I am shipping out tomorrow.
The skin is one snake and I am amazed at the difference in the pattern.

A bit shinny I just

Nice and toasty limbs

Well she really thumps and arrow let me tell you. I will let *************************** post pics of the money shot. I warn you she looks flat but before I put in the re-flex d-flex in there she had a nice round draw. This is my first R/D.

Looks awesome Kelly !!  Great job !

Dan Landis

Looks good Kelly, you did a good job on toasting, mine always seem to come out spotty for some reason.

KellyG

Dan that is only my second toasting but I had DVS there to watch over me. I did learn that if your caul has a back lip the heat can really reflect of it and get your back. Luckily it was mostly glue that got it.

But thanks

Well, I can now say that I did receive my trade bow. Even though it's been here a few days I had no way of posting that it arrived. My computer gave up it's ghost and I finally had found time today to go buy a new one.

I must say Walt did one heck of a job. It's one of the sweetest looking one piece bows I've had in a long time.

Now just to find time to shoot it alittle. My furniture building has taken way too much of my time. Hopefully I'll be able to put a few arrows thru it tomarrow.

I'll try to post a few pics as well over the weekend.

Thanks Again Walt!!!

Congrats Troy that brings us up to over 61% done. Mine is wrapped and ready to ship. I will take it down in a bit to the post office. I have had a couple of folks give me tracking numbers so I verified several were received even though some had not posted saying they received.

Slow but we are getting there in the end.

Like that r/d profile Kelly!

So y'all can MARK ME AS SHIPPED!!  Dropped her off this morning and somebody should have a long white tube on the porch come Monday or Tuesday   :D

Glad to be done with that!

Kelly I'll pm you the tracking #

Kevin - isn't that the greatest feeling?

I think the grace period is about to end if I calculated right.  I know I needed it again this year.

Said the heck with all work today and decided it was time to put some arrows thru the new bow.

I must say I'm very happy. It cast my 800gr arrows with some great authority.

Switched the endless loop string Walt sent with the bow to a flemish twist, added a set of strings puffs and crimped on a string nock.

At first I thought I was going to need different arrows. The ones I normally shoot seemed a bit weak in spine. However, adding another piece of Velcro to the sight window solved all the flight problems.

Approx. 100 arrows thru it today and I can tell everyone "my fingers are sore".  Guess I can expect that since I havn't shot in over three weeks.

Thanks Again Walt!!!

I am in the same boat Kevin. That R/D was my third bow this year. For theses swaps. I had one that was for this one. It is a bow but only pulling about30#s at 28".

I also had a shorty D bow pulling to about 25 before it decided it was not going to be a bow. I almost had the handle bending but no luck. Then the hack berry first time using hackberry and the first R/D. Now I am working on an American Long bow for the P/A swap.

I really hope to have it tillered out this weekend. IF so it will be my fastest tillering job to date by far. But I really plan on using the next 3 days. with lots of breaks so I am not rushing it.

And Kevin you have a 4% chance it is headed your way! Just like all the others not received yet.
