Nice bow. If my numbers are not off we are 50% done.

jsweka

50% ?!?!?!?! That's it?

If the rules remain the same next year in that you can't ship somebody's bow who was late this year until they complete their bow, we may never get any bows shipped again.

Is it really that 25% of guys are tardy and another 25% are waiting on them to ship before they ship?

Dang I thought it was farther along than that.

Not from down under guys... Work midnight shift and have to sleep during the day.

Nice looking bow canopy!

Got my bow today from Olin Kennedy (West Texan) !    :jumper:    :jumper:    It is awesome! Thanks so much Olin! As soon as I am able, I will post pics. Right now though I have to focus on getting my bow for ********* finished. Sorry in advance for being so late. And thanks again to Kelly and sticks for making this happen again this year.

I put the bow I made in the mail today so you can mark me as shipped.  I even took pictures before I packaged it but I can't get them to load on photobucket so I'll have to try something else in order to get them on here.

Question:  Does the grace period count as shipping late w/r to holding the shipping on bows next year?  Or only on bows shipped after the grace period has expired?  As John noted, with so many shipping after July 7th, next year will mean a lot of bows in a holding pattern.  I kind of like not getting my bow until after I've finished my recipient's, but tracking the log jam might get a little complicated.

Things do seem to be a little behind this year. I can't really remember what last year was like though ....

All I can say is I'm glad I'm not working out in this heat to get a bow finished.

I finally got photobucket working so I thought I'd post a few pictures of the bow that I mailed out yesterday.

The bow is made from an osage sucker and I ended up using almost all of the sapwood due to a drying check that ran down the belly of the stave.  Pics of the work up to this point were back on about page 50 or so but here is where I left off:

After some work and more heat-bending sessions than I care to remember, here's where I ended up:

So I'm on my way home today and as I get close to the house I notice a long slender tube leaning against my garage door. So I did what any rational human being would do and pushed the gas pedal to the floor. I slid into my driveway and jumped outta my jeep to inspect the package. Yup! its a bow!!!! I sent a picture of the tube to a good friend of mine you all may know who goes by the name BrianO. So I go inside and open the package to reveal what's inside. Ill let the pics say the rest!

Gotta love true friends!!
Thanx a lot BrianO!!

WoooHoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got my trade bow!!!!! Ralph Morris sent me an AMAZING three piece take down longbow, which is awesome because I've always wanted a takedown!

Ralph you have made my year! The wood choices and how you laid them out in the riser are gorgeous! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! It feels great in my hand and draws nice and smooth, the weather in florida is not cooperating right now so hopefully I can actually shoot it tomorrow.

I will get some better pics up when the weather permits.

Congrats Duck, I was lucky enough to get a bow from Ralph in last years swap. I shoot it almost every day, my go to bow.  If yours shoots anything like mine, you'll love it.

I managed to sneak out between rain showers and loose a few arrows and it is fast, smooth, and quiet!!!!

I shot about a dozen arrows and at least eight of them were on the money  :)  I am very happy!!! Thanks again Ralph for the time and effort put into this bow, it is greatly appreciated!

Hey Canopy, remember your post on page 5? Haha, I had the same ambition and ended up finishing at the last moment. No worries.      :wavey:

LittleBen
