This is just like watching your child being born.  Kinda gets you all excited wondering what she'll look like!  :bigsmyl:

great build Roy!   makes me wished I had bid harder on the yew staves at teh P&Y banquet last spring in MN.

Heard we have some on Prince of Wales island...might have to make a bear hunt wood gather trip out of it now  ;) .

I had a real cute and smart*** comment to make about Roy birthing a child, but I can't afford to be on any lists this fall!
Instead, I'll just enjoy the thread and learn through Roy's experience with the yew.
Lookin' good, Roy neck. And thanks for straightening Keenan out about North-n-South.    :goldtooth:

LMAO Red. Go ahead and let her rip, what's a little ole thumpen list anyways? :)

Roy from Pa

Sanded up the horn tip over lays and have the string grooves in too. But I have a problem, this stave lost most of the reflex I put in it. I need to make a caul like Keenan or adapt something to get some good reflex in her. I will lay her on her back and get her belly all hot and lubed up, then put the clamps to her, just like Pat suggested.. LMAO But I kin do that:)

You can tiller that out as is and end up with about a inch of follow, which is fine in my book, but maybe not yours. You need to do as Keenan showed you and you'll get better results, and it'll drive the heat deeper. I have a half caul that wood work perfectly for what your trying to do. If your not in a hurry or got some spare time this weekend I could come out n give ya hand n use my caul, n show ya how its done..lol.

If not,ill just sit back n keep watching the entertainment    :campfire:

Roy from Pa

Take your pick, Saturday or Sunday? I hate bows with string follow:)
