Roy how did you like working with the yew.

Roy from Pa

Kelly it works so easy, very soft compared to Osage or Hickory. It was harder to get the reflex to stay when heat treating compared to Osage, but after I was showed how, it was a snap.  Other than that, I will say, I will be making more yew bows in the future:) They are so awesome looking!

Well I put the grip on tonight. Very different than any I have done before, I used strips of black leather, 1/4 wide X 3/16th thick. Not ever doing this before and not wanting the top and bottom to have an off set, I decided to do a single wrap at a time. For the arrow rest I added a 3/4 inch piece of wrap to the top, just below the side plate, came out really nice for the rest though. Not sure if I ever want to do this type of wrap again, as it took an hour and a half, in between beers:) I put a dab of super glue on the end of each single wrap, then used tite bond on the center section of each wrap. Worked out well though.

Well done Roy.

I wish I could think of some smart arse comment about your bow to also stay on the list, but that really is sweet lookin'.

That one is a very nice bow. The deer are chasing here. And I am going after my cow elk in the AM. Man what a dilemma. I just hope I get the elk down early and can be back in the stand with my bow.
