I may have found a local apple wood supply.
I was wondering if apple wood makes good bows?

Good question, and I sure hope so. I had a few apple trees fall this year and a buddy of mine processed it with his mobile horizontal bandsaw. This spalted apple wood is going to make some killer veneers....

Yeah will make some stunning veneers. My ex. with applewood is that it checks and twist like something if not dried VERY carefully. Steaming or boiling makes it dead, but takes away some of the nice color. Bue--.

That is some beautifully spalted wood. Would love to see some lams out of that, or a nice riser
You are very lucky to have a buddy with a mobile saw.

rmorris,

That is some killer spalted apple. I'm gonna have to keep my eyes open for some. That would make a good add on to my current supply of veneers.

Nice looking wood should make a sharp looking bow.
