CAN I USE RED OAK FOR PARAL AND TAPPERS. I BOUGHT SOME RED ELM OF OF KENNY  REAL NICE. AND I WAS JUST WONDERING IF I COULD USE RED OAK, THANK YOU BUCK

Buck, I believe almost any hardwood can be used as straight  and tapered lams in,a glass bow.
Elm is one of the best.

IMO oak is brittle. If you have made the Oak lamination already try putting them in the form under pressure and see if they can make the bends without cracking. I do think it would work as a lamination but I dont think it is a optimal lamination.

Where is Bureau? If you are close to the MO line in the North end, I know where you can buy a truckload of good lumber.....

Red oak was "unfriendly" when I tried it.  There are a lot of other woods that are much better.
