I think I am gonna do paper backing with skins over it. What kinda paper and glue is best. Can I use black color papper from walmart. Does it need to be thin or does it matter. I figured like a black paper will make the skins look better. Thank, Travis.

The paper,I've heard used most ,was like shopping bags.

The paper backing I use is a roll of brown wrapping paper, from a shipping store or Office*** or I think Wal**** carries it as well.  I've always used Tite Bond III for it.  I've never put snakes skins over paper though.  I have put snake skins down and again used TBIII.  Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I wouldn't use anything heavier than brown grocery bag paper. The brown wrapping paper is about the same or slightly lighter. The problem with thicker paper you are adding excess physical weight without any extra benefits for the bow. The brown paper seems to be a good weight when added to TB glue. Any carpenters glue, white or yellow will work. After the glue dries and you seal the bow it becomes waterproof.
You can dry the paper after glueing it down but I have never seen a reason to blacken a bow before adding skins. I think it looks fine without doing it.
