Red Tailed Hawk

Here's some pics of the new bow I just completed. Bow is from a white oak stave. 68" ntn. 47# @ 28".

This is the first time I ever flipped tips on a bow and really like the extra zing it adds.

Bow is 2" at the fades to 3/4" at the tips.

Hope you guys like the pics, all comments welcome as I am fairly new at this bow making thing.

Nice work!  Tiller looks great!  I'd like to try flipping the tips on one of mine, how'd you do it?  I think I saw a post on using a heat gun and caul with clamps, thought of maybe trying it sometime, but I figure it'll be harder to tiller then.

Your tiller looks great. Very nice bow. White oak make a good bow but not many folks use it.

Jomohr84 I used a heat gun and just a light coating of vegetable oil. The bend was mostly done on a lolli column in my basement and held by hand till cool.

I do think a caul with clamps would be a good idea
