Hermann From Bavaria

Hey guys!

The last few days, i started a Herter glue-up. Today i roughed her out and shot a few arrows.
I could not believe how clean and straight her shoots. ok, it stacks a bit and it sounds like a "Seldom Scene Banjo String" (no silencers at the moment), but i´m really impressed by that little sucker.

here the facts:
Riser in Zebrano, corewood/powerlam Maple, Black glass, zebrano riser overlay, mycarta and zebrano tips.
shes in the 50s (approx, exact poundage will follow) and i love her.

heres a pic, me shootin my new honey. more pics will follow if shes finished

thank you for comments guys

Awesome Herm!! Glad you got one put together- they are fun.

Swissbow

Great job Herman. I love these little basterds, but I never had the courage to try one myself.

Swiss,

in my case it was no courage-thing, it was an  obsession.   ;)

Way to go Herm.  I am glad you got one finished.  I love those little bows.  Be sure to post some finished pics.

I glued up one limb tonight of my KT-44 reproduction.....should be another interesting shorty.

Hermann From Bavaria

Yeah, the KT-44.

My Brother wants one, but i couldnt find plans for it. Is it possible to get a blueprint?

I tried to consruct limbs on my own, but it ends up in a non shootable chaos.

Yes, I could get some blue prints going of the one I am building, but let me finalize the prints after I complete this bow....Surely I will have some good pointers after completing the first one that would be valuable to include in addition to the limb and riser profiles.

I'm going to have to come down there and watch you make one.  I want to make a glass bow but don't' know where to start, nor do I have the equipment for glass.

Brad,
Good luck on your design. I would love a set of prints on that one too!

Herm,
Nice work on your bow. Do you have any more pictures?
Ishi was a Californian

Hermann From Bavaria

Beachbow,

At the moment I´m on finishing that bow. When it finished, probably monday, i´ll post detailed pics. Also i will post technical facts like exact poundage and arrows speeds according to arrow wheigt.

Brad,
Thank you for your offer. I hope you are successful on that little toy. Please think of me with the blueprints. I´m addicted to this short stuff (I´m planing on a 56" Hybrid longbow).

Cuban Missile,  just search the bowyers bench for build along....you will find all kinds of good data on how to build a glass bow, (some posts even show build alongs with the use of minimal tools).  Then try make one, doesnt have to be elaborate or perfect... just get some lams, glass and glue from kenny and start with a simple straight longbow, nothing fancy.  Then come on down, I will show you how I do it along with some tips and you will probably show me some as well.
