So I got done with the last take down I posted.. the Rosewood and curly maple..  He loved it.  So guess what?  His brother want's one now..  LOVE IT!

So after talking with him a bit, we are doing the same style of bow, but we are using Paduak and maple.  65lbs at 29 inches with a 62" AMO.

Part of his choice in woods is because he saw my veneers I had made up and sitting on a shelf..

I made these about 8mo ago....

Looking sharp-that riser should really come to life once you start shaping it.

Bradford

Starting to look like a bow now!

Got the phelonic glued up on the pads and the first shape cuts

Also got one limb glued up and cleaned

how do you get your bandsaw set up with the fence to account for drift?   Mine is bad...put a timberwolf blade on it and it does somewhat better...its a craftsmen 12".   I do have a carbide blade I havent run yet....

Great work on both builds btw!!!

Bradford

Thanks guys..
I get the blade on.. tighten till the blade only moves about 1/2" left and right.. then adjust the blocks using a piece of paper.  Then use a angle to make sure the unit is 90 degrees.. and away I go.  I will get a bit o drift from time to time, but never anything bad enough the oscillating spindle sander cant correct.
Hope that helps

Well bradford that is going to be a really sweet bow.

Bradford

Spent the morning lining the limbs up... I really need an easier method of doing this.

But got the limbs rough shaped and bolted on and got the window cut out

Was motoring along today.. got the tip phelonics and accents glued on the limbs then got the riser pretty much shaped up.

Had a bit of a problem with one of the limbs.. the glass separated from the wood on the belly????

Already started making new limbs.  I will get it 100% right (yeah right..lol) one day.

Holy crap man, did you figure out what when wrong... not enough bow snot? not enough pressure?, etc...

Bradford

Well.. got the second set of limbs built.. lined up and got it on the tiller tree today

Here is the first look with out tape on the limbs.  I LOVE the way Padauk is dark red/burgundy when it is clear coated

So a little bit more and it will be all done!
