First I'd like to thank the host David (DVSHunter), and Chris (H8noncubs). I had a great time, and a LONG day. (Oh yeah I made it home okay...LOL!) 23 hours and 40 minutes was the official result for the day for me. 10.5 hours driving, and the rest having fun with all of the fellas in the pics.

I gotta throw out BIG thanks to all who helped this NEWBIE learn, (or at least attempt to learn) to chase some rings on Osage, and answer some other questions about self bows in general.

Special thanks to MUDD, and Grey Buffalo for the very nice gestures. (I got a nice draw knife from MUDD, and a few Osage pieces to practice on from Grey Buffalo).

I had a blast with all of you and hope to share some more time together soon. Thanks

I am glad you had such a great turn out. The only reason I am not crying is I got to have a great day with the wife.

Thanks for sharing and making the rest of us jealous.

Mudd

To those in attendance yesterday I owe an apology in that I gave no warning of my arrival.(no yodels)

The area was small and I could plainly see that no one had hearing protection so I refrained from my normal yodel greeting.

I thought it would be just awful if for the remainder of the day to listen to a bunch of folks repeating over and over...huh?... what did you say.

I would have felt badly if I knew I had damaged anyone's hearing....you need that sense for better hunting.

God bless,Mudd

Judging from the stories of 0600 wakeups at MOJAM, Im pretty sure we were all thankful that you refrained from yodeling.

It was great finally meeting the famous Mudd anyway! And your gesture of the drawknife to americanhunter was phenomenal. He is hooked now I think.

No apology neded mudd. I just assumed you only model at six and since you arrived late thanks to a traffic accident we got lucky.  :) .

I had a great time too, and was so tired when I got home I didn't even get to due the glue UPS I wanted. At least I have a project for today.

John, I'm glad to hear you made it home safe.  With gas being at 3.68 a gallon, driving your truck that far for one day of bowbuilding definitely puts you in the crazy bunch with the rest of us.  Chris's wife said we were crazy for waking up at 430.

Nothing quite like a day surrounded by guys all making bows. And talking bow hunting.

psychmonky

Oh and I learned that a 75 year old osage blank is almost black. Lol

Not only was their a 75 yer old Earl Hoyt bow blank an display, but a Earl Hoyt Yew flat bow was brought in by a new convert from wheels.  He had a real nice set-up that his grandfather used to use.  Rawhide quiver, old arrows, a horn to start shoots off with.  Also nice to see him work 4 hours straight on a hickory stave.  You need a bandsaw Dave.  That 18 inch powermatic is still for sale.lol

Wait, didn't chris say no one was allowed to say "bandsaw" any more? Lol

bandsaw, bandsaw, bandsaw!  Funny, when we got back, Chris had his new grizzly catalogue at the house.  I've got Andrews number now, and scouts too. Those guys along with John were machines!

Watered down but gone just the same. I think it lasted all of about five minutes.  Kst goes to show when guys are hungry they will eat anything.
