Ok,

This time I used plane liquid superglue and I have it wrapped for now and it is holding. Here is a full draw pic, The top is on just fine the bottom is the issue.

Thanks

Hey Bobby

Full draw looks pretty good. Hopefully you got the overlay thing fixed.

Roy from Pa

Bos, that tiller looks great Dude.

That full draw is spot on! Very nice.
Is the string groove only cut in the overlay? You might be putting latteral stresses on the glue joint causing the glue line to fail. Will you post pics of the overlay on the tip with the string groove cut? Strung if possible.

That bow is looking sweeeet Tex.

Great tiller Boswell.

Man some more great bows being completed. I am getting a lot of PMs on bows and the activity on the thread is just hopping. I will try and put up a new list of folk that I know have received and those that need to ship.

Stiks have you gotten any that have shipped or received that I am not tracking?

I want this bow done so I can focus on getting thing ready for MOJAM. I really want to head out from here the day prior. It is only 4 hours but man I want to do some meeting and greeting and plain ole fellowship with my fellow bowyers and archers.

LeeNY

Mine went out today. Kelly PM'd you the tracking numbers.
Wow, every bow I see I want, There are some really wonderful bow being made for this years swap. Can't wait for my little tube to arrive!!          :goldtooth:

Pat,
There is no string grove. It is just a small piece of antler glued on the back to prevent the string from sliding down. So all of the pressure would be lateral.
I will try to post pictures later, I gotta go back to work for now.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Thanks
Boswell

Got mine done today. Be shipping in the morning. I had to hurry but it still is a good shooter. I hope it fits ---- as well as it fits me Id like to keep it. I dont have any pics, computer trouble, overtime and a big project in the works beat me down this year. I hope the receiver can get a few.   Mater

Boswell, maybe a couple of blind pins would give it the latteral strength it needs. A piece of 1/8" hardwood dowel or bamboo skewer would work for the pins. The concept is very cool and looks great.

Here is a peek at the profile of the bow I am working on.

Now the question is should I put a black snake skin on it or leave that natural color. I am truly torn on that one.

WestTexan

Put a string on it and give it a workout today...it looks ready for some sealer and maybe some stain to me.

WestTexan

Oh yeah the pic is bad forgot to add that... Looks like about the time I snapped the pic I moved a bit.

Pat B

Texan, if that pic is at full draw I'd say to dress her up, wrap her up and send her on! Anything else would be overkill!

Wow Texas that's a real pretty stick!!!! Those bull snake skins really pop!!

Boswell I'm with Pat your tiller is perfect and as Pat says your string groove needs to be cut through the overlay and the bow wood tip, also at the correct angle. That should relieve the stress on the overlay and glue joint.

That is going to make a great bow!!!
