Nim-rod great looking bow.
I marked you as waiting to ship.

Got some more pics of my swap bow.

I had a finish on it but when I signed I put a coat of satin on it and was still sticky today so I had to strip it and now I need to refinish it.

I sure do like snake skins! I just wish we had more than garter snakes up here in the great white north!

Worked on my hop hornbeam bow a little more this afternoon, got it bending to 23" and 57# so far and the tiller looks good, IMO, but the mass weight seems to be too heavy.  Currently the bow weighs 29 ounces, brought it back in by the wood stove to see if it's a moisture problem.  Will weigh it evey day for a while to see if looses any weight. I don't believe moisture is the problem.  The stave was cut and debarked in the spring of 2010, and stored in the rafters of my garage till September of 2011, was then roughed out hung over the woodstove until 2 weeks ago when I started tillering it.  Any thoughts on why the mass weight would be so heavy, other than moisture.   Bow is 65" NTN with an 8" handle, 2-3/4" at fades to mid limb, then tapers to 1/2" tips.

Looks GOOD !!

Dang, Roy, you're a rough crowd!  :D
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I worked on my trade bow some today. I may have set myself up for failure already. I cut the riser out 4" long and laid the board out for a 4" riser. Will the riser pop off the board when I start bending the bow?

Finally got my form hose to do what I wanted it to and got mine in the oven at the moment.  We will see what happens tomorrow and see if I can get some pics on here.  Great looking work so far everybody.

jess stuart

Looking good everyone, I hope to get mine going here soon.  Everyone may be finished in time for  a second swap this year LOL.

rmorris

Alright I got a little work done today before class. I got it strung and did a little work on shaping the riser. Here is a pic of me and this little gorilla pull bow that I am becoming to enjoy.

Here she is strung and what is that little thing?

Oh its a matching turkey call...

Bolivian Rosewood and marble wood... it still has a little bit of a young turkey sound but with a little more work I should be able to get a nice robust sound out of it.

Dang Kris, I hope I can shoot that bow as well as you do...   :archer:

Nice,Kris.Real sharp Ralph, anyone should be happy with either bow.

Nice looking bows as usual guys. You are setting the bar pretty high.  It's going to be a while before I can get real busy building mine.  I'm getting some good motivation right here though!

DVSHUNTER

Good looking bows. Rmorris, how did you know i needed a new turkey call?
