Clocked in at 57.5# @ 28" and I was aiming for 50# at 28"

Decided to do some extra math and realized I wasn't taking off the weight of my tillering tree - turned out the tree was 7.5#. Whew! 50" right on  :)

Forgot to take a shot of it on the tree, I'll put one up tonight. I took the bow out on the weekend and it shoots like a dream.

Next project I'd like to get a bit more intense with the handle, this one was far too plain for me    :)

Also my leather working skills need some work   :)

It is! I threw some walnut in for fun.

I have tons of scraps of different kinds of wood laying around so I think I'll make another one and get a bit more adventurous.

Also need to put some leather on the arrow rest, I didn't really try to clean up my tool marks there and they stand out like a sore thumb right now   :)

I also just realized how messy my shop looks in these pictures, yikes. Time to put the wife to work!

I hope some day I can make a plain looking bow as you call it. I would hate to see what you call dressed up. Good Job now where is the full draw pic.

Great looking bow! The leather came out good too.
I have yet to learn to work with leather.
Where in Canada are you?

P.S. a dusty workshop is the sign of a serious woodworker.

Almost looks like a glass bow rather than a board bow.  Nice!!!!

Thanks guys  :)  By "unique" looking I mean with lots of lamination in the handle, I just happened to get back from my wood dealer with 50$ of 1/8" veneers in any kind of wood you can think of.

I am in London, Ontario for those wondering - not much a trad presence here as far as I know ;(

The coolest part is taking out and shooting something you've been  scraping on for a while...

And it works....  :clapper:

Looks great. What's that on the back? Hard to make it out in the pic.

If you don't mind my asking, where do you get your wood? I'm an hour's drive east of you in Cambridge. I'm always on the lookout for good suppliers. Sometimes I'm looking for a nice piece of wood and I have a hard time getting it.

I actually found a 1x8x8 at the local home hardware! The latest wood I picked up is from Phillimore Enterprises in London which is at Hyde Park Road and Sarnia Road

Looks great, nice grip finish as well.

You are likely to upset a lot of people on here showing a first bow like that. At least lie to us and say you broke 5 before comig up with that one, we have delicate ego's.  :)  Seriously though that is a great job for a board bow no matter how many you have done.
And why would you want to spoil a perfectly good workshop by cleaning it up, you'll never find anything again.

Oh I don't know razor, I didn't break my first 5.  Of course the first one did come in at 30# and has about 5" of string follow.  Oh and the tiller didn't look anywhere near as good as this fine gentleman's....
