I am Building Helen a new target bow, we talked about what her needs were and I came up with this...24 layers of glass in the riser for weight and 66" long..which is taller than she is.. I e-mailed kennym and ordered some actionboo tapers and parallels, UL glass to go with the other materials I already had on hand. Got it glued up Tuesday night..I got a string on it earlier today to see where I was at, so far it's 52#s @ 28" and 1/8" tiller, after sanding the edges it should be arround 45 @ 28"..fades are longer than the glass, I glued a 22 inch long piece of amberboo onto the glass riser for the fade ends and power lam.

Riser really looks great!

24 layers of glass in the riser - WOW!

This one is shaping up to be a looker!! Those lams are awesome-can't wait to see the finished bow.

That looks great and the veneer is stunning. I have been thinking about putting more weight in my risers but I don't think I have the patience to work with that much glass.
I didnt miss, thats right where I was aiming

kennym

SWEET!

As said before, I'd have trouble with patience with that many pieces!

Great lookin bow!
Stay sharp, Kenny.

thanks for the nice words..I think it will be a nice one for Helen. I just shot it with the 2nd coat of spar urethane..gonna wait a couple of minutes and shoot a few more coats every 15 minutes..my dehumidifiers on high in the spray room

I made this on on my 62/64" kennym design form, Helen wanted 66"bow so i made stack a little thicker than the 64"stack, bow is 1.40" at it's widest point and .625 wide at string grouves ... specs are 66 inch long, cut 3/16 past center(should be OK.. lots of glass in riser!) 46#s at 28" gonna put it on scale later today.. seems to have very good cast

kennym

That is a knockout job Robert!

I'd think the riser is about bulletproof!
Stay sharp, Kenny.
