Lamination chart ?

I know binghams has a lam chart on there web sight but they do not show it for a 62 inch three piece takedown. And know I have seen another chart else where I just cant remember where. May be someone here knows. I am looking to have a 16 inch riser,a 62 inch bow. And want it to be approx. 50 lbs.I just tried to make a set of limbs and they were way to heavy I would guess around 70 lbs plus, if the riser would of held together.

Was the 70# bow 62"? What was the stack? Also are you making the pronounced limb?

I am not at home so I dont have my notes handy but I think my formula for a pronounced limb 50#@62# call for (I think) .265 stack using a 16" riser.

I have a excel chart that I got from Jason that will allow you to calculate the stack if you want to rebuild a given bow with a different draw weight. I will mail it to your email address, so you can calculate the stack for your new limbs.

TFolts,I made my form so I could go to 68 inches, and was hoping I could cut it back to 62 inches.But it was already way to heavy at the 68 inch length.My stack is .370 if I remember correctly.Problem was when I tried to put a long string on it I could tell it was way to heavy and the riser snapped were the threaded insert was.(black limba wood riser)I dont believe the wood was dence enough.So Back to the drawing board I go. I want to make this one 62 inches,my form now is a pronounced limb. Not sure if I will keep it that way or change my form so its not so pronounced.So if you can supply me with both the pronounced and more mild limb stack I would greatly appreciate it.

I check my numbers and I would go with a .270 stack and my tips are cut at 5/8" and sanded to 1/2". That should get you close. I dont have any info on the mild limb stack but you can call binghams and they will help you out. By the way your form for your limb has nothing to do with your riser breaking. 70#'s is 70#s regarles of limb design.

Don't forget, on their pronounced TD longbow, one of the tapers is forward and the other reversed. I'm just sayin!

Iam not buying one of there kits. I have,.043 glass,.05 lam,.080 lam,.05 lam,.043 glass.It measures .266.They show using 5 laminations. I did not order a taper. Should I?

No, their formula ends up bein a parallel limb anyway, IMO there is no reason to do the taper/reverse taper unless the thin end of reverse is easier to bend over the wedge .
