I fleshed some skins I had in the freezer today. Man do these things stink after they have been awhile.  I do believe that rotten snake is the worst smell I have ever encountered in my life. Anyway, here are the new skins.

First one is eight foot long.

This one is only about three and a half feet.

Reticulated python and corn milk snake are my guesses.

you're definitely right on the python, I'm not sure of the smaller snake.

No matter what they are. I kinda like them.

The one thing that has stopped me from putting some on my bow is the fear of snakes. I would imagine that if I seen it laying on the ground after getting out of the tree stand I would do either of the following.

1) run like hell
2) stomp the pees out of it.

Either would be not so good.

Dave, have you ever cleaned an eel? Those things stink when they're fresh!

Last week my wife brought me an old "tanned" rattle snake skin she'd found while cleaning out a storage room. I've read where tanned skins are no good for backing a bow. Maybe it'll make accents on a quiver or something.
