PEARL DRUMS

First one is a heartwood hickory bow I made, sealed with only Tru Oil. 48# @ 28", working handle. The second is a semi working handle, it just starts to bend at the bottom of my draw. Its 54# @ 28", osage.

I like that first one a lot.  The curve and the bow dimensions combine for a classic elegance.    I've never shot a working handle (at least as an adult).   I think I'll ask around at the Western and see if I can find one to pull.

Yep, that first one is something special.  Truly graceful arc.  That's a fine model bow for ARChery.  Good work.

Some beauties for sure!

Thanks Joe. It weighs a total 14 oz. with grip and string, VERY quick bow. My step-son took ownership of her before the Tru Oil was even tacky! He adores the bow and shoots it more than any other he has ever had, so its worth letting it go.

Great lookin bows PD. Those bendy-handles are my favorite to build and shoot. How long are they? Nice form there on your helper.

His elbow is a touch high, but he is close! The hickory is 61" ntn, the osage is 63" ntn. The osage is 1 1/4" wide max and the hikcory is about 1 3/8" wide max. The width taper doesnt start until mid limb on both. I like the wide flat limbs. Pyramid style seem to always prop twist on me?

Sweet looking "sticks" there, PD!

"Elbow a touch high", ha, remember that in a few years when he's Kicking your butt on the range!

Arnold Palmer had an "ugly" unothodox swing! And he did'nt amount to much.  :biglaugh:

I am kinda with Frank on this one. The very fact he has already kicked the training wheels is a good indicator your in trouble. If it is like my nephews once they get a taste of life with out the wheels they progress really quick.

Sweet bows Pearl, now I am gonna have to try a bendy.

He has never shot training wheels, says they look stupid? Dont know who he got that from.............?

Bendys take a little more time to tiller than a rigid handle, but well worth it LW. It feels pretty cool when that handle gives way at the end of your draw..........very cool.

Do you feel much hand shock in the bendy handle bows? I don't notice that much. I like them.

I felt a little more in the osage than I did in the hickory, and now Hackberry bows I made. I think the lighter wood is a little more tame in the hand than heavier osage. I like them all though!

The first time I did a bendy-handle I was thinkin it was goin to be a breeze to tiller. Not the case at all. It takes me quite a bit longer to tiller a bendy-handle bow but I love the way they look at full draw.

Igor

Very nice...both of them ....really like the osage - sweet lookin grip...what is the lengths?
