To this point I have only used polyurethane. So whats the deal with tru and tung oil? And what if anything does it do on a glass/maple/glass TD Recurve? Is one better than the other, or is a particular brand better?
Because I think I would like to use one of the two on this one.

They are made to penetrate into wood, wouldn't work on glass.

So. ok for riser. But what if anything could I use on the glass?

Polyurethane would work on glass, the others ok for riser.. I don't make glass bows so I'm not much help there.

I use wipe-on polly on glass bows with no problems. Tru-oil or Tung oil will work fine on glass also.

Go with Tru-oil. It works very well on wood and glass. It is not as durable as the epoxy finishes but much easier to work with and refinish if needed.Makes a very nice finish. Bob

Thanks for all of your input. Hope to be finishing soon. Between turkey season and ball season for two boys, it may take a while, but I'll get there.

The only thing I like about Tru Oil is that it seals the pores of osage. I give it 3 coats. Then I give it 3 coats of spar urethane. Jawge
