New Recurve (added unstrung profile pic)

Wanted to share a few pics of my 4th bow. This was my first attempt at a recurve, and a warm-up for my swap bow. Many thanks to Greg for setting me up with the form and sweet materials to build this one. This one has a Bubinga riser, Red Cedar veneers, with Maple cores, and phenolic and Bubinga tip overlays. This is my new fishing bow, hope to go bloody it next week.

I mounted up my reel and put a rest on, if only it hadn't snowed here last night. The angle of the bow makes it look funny, sorry.

Very nice... very clean..

I like how it is simple.. really get to enjoy the wood that way. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in how many different woods I can use, I forget the beauty of single or two tone wood.

Simple beauty right there! Although I can appreciate the craftsmanship involved in an ultra-fancy riser, I still tend to prefer a single piece of nice wood. I'd say your warmed up for that swap bow

I too am more of a longbow guy, but I like the lines of that bow. Many recurves are too "busy" for my taste, but not that one. Nice job!

This form Greg developed is very unique, very longbowish, slim riser and the limbs are tapered just like a longbow from 1.5" at the fadeouts to the 5/8" at the tips. The best part is how nice it shoots. This is a 60" nock to nock bow, I draw 29.5" this bow draws beyond that without stacking.

Kenny, I will primarily shoot carp with this one. I'd love to go shoot something exotic with it someday like alligator gar or something else that get gigantic.

K30bowfisher, can you tell me how you obtained the form? That is exactly what I have been envisioning, but have never built a bow and really don't like the bingham style recurves. I would want a 62" bow but other than that awesome style. Oh, congrats on he Warm Up bow, looks like a finished product to me.

Fedora, this form belongs to Greg in Malad, it is a nice design. If you go look at some of Greg's work you will be impressed, he is one of the best bowyers around. If Greg doesn't care, I'll trace the swap bow I'm going to layup when it comes out of the form and send it to you. I'll ask him and let you know, if he doesn't chime in here.
