Li'l Osage Garter Snake

Cleaning up a badly checked but well seasoned osage propeller I won at a raffle produced a sliver that intrigued me so this week I chased the fattest ring on it, did some tillering and out popped this skinny little snakey bow! I think I'll call her 'Garter Snake'.

She's 43" long, 1/2" wide on average and about 3/8" thick. Pulls 10# @ 16" and packs an unexpected wallop!

That arrow is 1/4" dowel. She's a skinny bow! Check out the little crook in the lower limb.

I could have scraped that knot down some more but it was too cute.

My eight year old testing the draw limit. She's petite, but a little too big for this bow already.


I really didn't have high expectations for this one but it turned into a very good little shooter!
