That is too cool John.  I really admire you wood bowyers.  Do you prefer a recurve or a longbow? Or does the wood dictate what type of bow you build?

John Scifres

Thanks all!

Lee, we only got 3" so shoveling wasn't bad.  Still snowing a bit though and more coming over the next couple days    :)     You make it out to the shop?

Jess, I have loved about every type of bow at some point in my life.  I think my all time favorite was a sinew-backed static recurve that just fit me.  It had to be retired after many, many thousands of shots.  I like bendy handled pony bows a lot too.  I've never just died for a longbow but a couple have been my buddies for certain periods of time.  I make a lot of flatbows that are technically longbows and they are among my favorites.  This is a new style for me.  We'll see.

I know one thing, I got a lot more radical on the recurves than I planned.  Sometimes I just go with it, plans be dammed    :)

Great teut going here, John. I even brought my "John" (Scifres) Osage lb out, the second time I watched them - to let it see what you are up to these days    ;)  "We" both enjoyed the videos.

Do you have your camera set up on a tripod or do you use a "cameraman"? Great job - IMO

It's about 25 degrees out there in the shop.  I like natural light so I leave the garage door open  :)   At night it gets up to 35 or so especially using the heatgun.

I am holding the camera so in essence, I do have a cameraman.  I am just winging this.  Maybe I should paln what I say out a little better - naaaaa!

Thanks again all.

I migt not get much of a chance to update today.  Daughter's B-Day tomorrow so family party this afternoon and then the SUperbowl food fest at sister's house.

LOL - I didn't seem to hear much in the way of stammering or stuttering, so it sounded like you had it pretty well planned out (or pretty much knew what needed to be done/said). So I'd say, like the goat in the AFLAC ads, "Na-aaaa," is the right answer.

Have fun and don't get a bellyache.
