Come on John, that's no fun, holding out on the draw weight like that!  :)

Sorry b.glass, that information is kept off the internet at this point! Haha, no clues just yet...

I've been building robots with the F.I.R.S.T. robotics team the past week and haven't had time to do much work, or any time to sleep. I just got done painting on the second layer for the butterflies. This came out exactly how I wanted it... Check the pictures:

Tomorrow and over the weekend I plan on being able to touch up some stain and seal it. Shoot it in for a week, and I aim to have it sent out within a week to two weeks.

I got a bit caught up in school, and last weekend I was off visiting Colorado School of Mines, so I didn't have time to work on it in a while. I did however, get several coats of varathane on it, and it's sealed up, and ready to ship as soon as I can put a grip on it. I need to find some leather. I put a few shots through it, and it shoots consistent and true. The pictures below are from the second round of shooting with it. Not bad, considering I haven't been able to shoot a trad bow in the last month because I didn't have one. I'll get full draw pics up soon; it's got spray on varnish drying over where I wrote the weight, name, etc. right now. I also have to go find some packing material... I remember that there was a good suggestion in the main bow swap thread, so I'm going to look into that soon. Overall, it turned out pretty much as I hoped it would, only with more set than I wanted. Still, it shoots well and I'm proud of it.

Name and draw weight/length omitted; spoilers!

What kind of paper and glue do you use for the backing?

Lovec: I used black butcher paper (if you remember from school, there was probably a rack of paper rolls in the art rooms that had different colors--it's from that) with a titebond III and water mixture to glue it on. I put on two layers of paper, but one will suffice. I then painted over that on the back to give a finish that was more even/hid the paper a bit.

Finally!

I went to a shoe repair shop and picked up a piece of leather to be used as the handle wrap, and stitched it on. I put silencers on the string, and it's ready to rock! I'm going to shoot it some more today and tomorrow, and hope to ship it out by monday. I'm a bit sad to see it go!
