Thanks guys-Once I get all the sanding done the tiger wood riser will really pop with the finish one it- that is always one of the funnest times in the build process-seeing the ugly duckling come to life.

RECURVE319

Great looking recurve !!!  Could you tell me the lam stack that you used for 45lbs. I've been itching to try a short bow for stand hunting.

Thanks.

Can't wait to see the finish on her.

Dave, If possible I like this one better even than the last one. You have better string angle . did you add a tip wedge? That thing has even more draw in it.

FYI this bow is 6 full inches shorter than a Kodiak Mag. They are 51 . They did make a few Kodiak Mags in a 48 in called a Super Mag.

Great bow and great job. God Bless yuu, Steve

Steve-no tip wedge unless you count the overlay on the belly as one. The only thing I can contribute to the string angle difference are the overlays I used-this one they are a little thicker than on the first.

Swissbow

SAWEEEEEEET ! Fantastic job, Trux.

I'm trying a different finish on this one. A massey finish followed by tru-oil. Here is a picture with the first coat of epoxy drying on the riser. I'm not quite sure how long to let it cure between sanding??? It looks like it will do a pretty good job sealing the grain- this tigerwood is really starting to come to life now.

I usually let the epoxy set overnight. you can check it until it doesn't feel sticky. I usually coat several times but you can oil after the first coat. the pores will be sealed with tiger.Thats sure pretty. One of my favorite woods.
God Bless you, Steve

I don't know if you ever said or not Trux, but are you building this for yourself? Or is it for the bow swap?

That's exactly what I had in mind for it, looks like an awesome blind bow!
Of course, I wouldn't have a problem flinging an arrow at a deer with it either.   :archer2:
