I got this one glued up this weekend and most of the bow snot cleaned off. I'm using tigerwood for the riser with a mosaic of maple and paduka between white glass- for the limbs-brown glass and bamboo core-this bow will be 46"ntn.
Here are some pictures of the start of the mosaic and riser.

All the stuff ready for glue up-

Here it is out of the oven - cleaned up some and with the center line established.

That style reminds me of a cape bufflo. That is going to be a nice looking bow when it is done.

Looking very good indeed.  I have one of those Trux snubnose bows, they will surprise you how well they shoot.

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

I gotta stop checking these threads on glass bows,,, man that looks radical!

Bet I can't resist checking back later!

It is a pretty interesting bow to build- getting it into the form is the first challenge but putting a string on it for the first time can be a little unnerving- you hope it doesn't try to turn around on you! I'll find out soon enough- they do shoot better than you would think for a snubnose.

That is going to be a neat little bow. Great brush bow

That's pretty cool. I've been wondering how that's done. Thanks for sharing. I cant wait to see it finished.

I am looking forward to this one Trux...I have 2 46rs in progress right now...they are fun!

Let us know the lam stack and poundage once it is complete...I am still having some trouble finding the correct stack on mine.

Will do Brad- It will be interesting to see how this one comes out compared to the last one as I decreased the lam stack on it. Can't wait to get some more shop time and see how it likes a string.

Trux Turning

Had some time after work today- so far so good- it is braced really low at this point- around 6", once I get the overlays on I'll brace it at its 8.5 to 9" mark. Lucky for me also- the draw weight seems to be about right- not too light/heavy.

jess stuart

Trux looks great, great glue lines at the fades.  It amazes me that the fades close up so well the belly ramp looks so steep.  I predict the turkeys are not going to like this bow to well, but I also predict you will.

Sixby

Stupid question but why do you want to go to such a high brace. I would think by looking at it that 7 1/2 or so would work and you would get a lot more speed. JMHO Such a neat little booger.

God Bless you , Steve

Trux Turning

You are right Sixby- I'll start with the bow there and see what it likes. The first one I built shot best at 8+"s, right Jess? I picked that higher brace height based off of the original bows recommendation. I should get the rest of the overlays glued on today if all goes as planned.
