I was at horrible frieght the other day and they have 2-3" spring clamps for sale.  Do these hold up in a heat box at say 140-160F?  I would almost imagine thier force gets weaker because the plastic gets softer?

I bought some years ago and use them now for cold clamping because they weakened from the heat in the hot box.

i never liked the glass filled nylon spring clamps. i have had GFN fail on me in several other instances.

if you have an ollies near ya , check em out. my father in law picked up a 36" bar clamp (not a bad one at all) for 7$ . its holding my tillering tree up in my latest pictures.

other than that , i use the metal spring clamps that home cheapo had "on sale" for 1.99 . the ones with the little green covers.

Lowes has some 1" spring clamps for $1.00 each but you have to look for the box hidden at the end of an isle.  These things are so strong you can barely get them all on before you start cramping up yourself.
