What is the cheapest stuff to seal the ends of a fresh cut tree that will be used to make a bow at a later date.

I like Shellac or wood glue but have used latex paint. Just do not skimp on whatever you decide to use.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Ok, latex paint is the winner...I have a lot left over from remodel projects over the years.

How long do I have to wait for this piece of cedar to be ready to glue on my selfbow as a handle?  Does it have to dry out any or not?

With latex paint I found that using at least three heavy coats, about 30-60 minuts between coats worked best.
