Well, since I won two giveaways last week and I also lost my storage space, and because lots of guys are building on a budget this year heres what ima do. I have a piece of osage here in the shop, a grest piece for a beginner. I know we have a bunch of beginner bow builders in this year. Some have made a board bow, some glass, anyway... I want to give a stave out to someone that has never worked osage before that is in this years bow swap. So if you have never made a bow from a stave, or never had an osage stave, post your name here and I will draw a name on friday and ship you one for free! Remember to post pics along the way, and don't worry you will have plent of help here.
just to clear up my confusion , is this for my personal bow , or for the swap , as you said it was only open to swappers. makes me think i will use it for my swap bow unless it comes in "accidently" underweight...

im most likely going to use this for the swap , as my recipient would love it , and it would make my swap bow a complete village project.

hova, my plan was for you to use it for the swap. It should push your limits, but in a good way.

DVSHUNTER,
What did you mean you guess he was going to be asking a lot of questions? I think he is the only person who ask more than I and that is saying something?  LOL
Hova,
Congratulations on the Osage. Maybe you will get a nice wide one or deep, where 2 bows might be hiding. If not it will give you some practice. I bet if you look around in Ohio you will find some hedge there. When you do It will most likely be a big ole tree.
Good luck on you Osage journey,
Kelly

i drive for my job a lot , my area is a 500 mile radius. i have yet to notice any in ohio , pa ,or wv... granted i havent been going long distances now that i have a jeep instead of a little vw golf , but you can bet i look (at least glance) at every tree i pass...

Hey congrats Hov! There's lots of hedge apple trees in Ohio. I always see them on fence rows and a lot on creek edges. Good luck with the stave. I can't wait for you to learn everything so you can teach me. Lol!
