Thanks for the kudos on the bow guys.  Y'all should be looking on your doorstep for a package  :)

Looking Good Ruddy! A little stiff on the outer 1/3rds.  I wouldn't pull it past 17" until you get the problems corrected. Could create alot of unwanted set.

I know of 3 bowyers who have shiped and bows are enroute. On sent two bows, one for the not only for the name he drew but a shorter bow for the spouse as well. So 4 bows are enroute. We should see some more finished bows up here very very soon.

Pat B

Can't wait to start seeing finished bows in the hands of the new owners.

Pat that sure was a killer bow you made....the full draw pic was about as good as it can get. Awesome.

Pat B

Thanks Tex. Hopefully we will have a full draw pic of her with her new owner in the next day or two.

I'm on the home stretch with my trade bow. Had to shorten it a little, took 2" from top limb and 2-1/2" from the bottom limb to hit my weight, also had to rebend the recurves on both limbs. Need to add a few more coats of Tru Oil, a handle wrap, and make a new string with silencers for it and she is done.  Will post a few pics when completed....Dan

Looks good to me, Ruddy. Is the right limb kinda thin right out of the fade? Or is it just the pic?

I should have some pics up tomarrow of the bow I built for the trade. Just have to do a few more little  things and she's done.

Pat B

I like your new caul, Ruddy. Did you toast the belly well?

pat i heated the bow 2 times yesterday, i think the belly got toasted , ill have some pics later. do i use acetone to clean the olive oil off? if so i gotta make a run to the hardware store to get some. ruddy

Acetone or denatured alcohol, Ruddy. If you are not going to add a backing you shouldn't have to remove the oil, just let it sink in and seal over it.

Nice job on the bows Ruddy and Goose! Y'all are making me look bad, I got one I'm finishing up for a guy that I promised a bow to. Then I'm going to start my trade bow.

I've seen some fantastic bows produced so far and this has got to be one of the largest collective efforts of Talent that I have ever witnessed.
Some very fine craftsmen frequent these pages!
